Leaving Drinks

Hey,

This week we're having a NPF for Bevan and Rach who are off on their big trip overseas! We are going to La Zeppa (Drake Street, behind Vic Park for those of you that missed the last time). They have awesome tapas and a great drinks menu so come down and join in some drunken debauchery, we have to send these guys off with a massive hangover! :-)

It's also Jacqui's leaving drinks, she's leaving Vodafone so there should be a lot of very sad Vodafone people drowning their sorrows too. Look forward to seeing everyone before I go back to being a boring student.

Back to where it all began....

Hi everyone,

This week we're heading back to the Northern Steamship where we had our very first NPF. We have had a few requests to re-visit the Steamship, and it's such a cool bar we thought it would be good to go back. We will also be saying good bye to Mel who has been a regular at NPF since we started. Mel is leaving us and heading off to Sydney, so lets see her off with a big night out! For anyone who hasn't been there before, the Steamship is on Quay Street in the city.

Luke has very kindly offered us staff priced drinks for those of you who come to NPF on Fri, thought it would go a little further than a bar tab! Being the awesome guy he is, he's also chucking in some vouchers so we'll have a few spot prizes on the night! Wicked.

So hope to see you all at Steamship tomorrow for a nice cold, thirst queching beer.

The Bluestone Room

Hi Everyone,

This Friday we're off to the Bluestone Room, located on Durham Lane West (Off Queen St). Check them out at http://www.thebluestoneroom.co. They were very interested in the idea of NPF and have offered us a $100 bar tab plus food platters if we get 20 people along. If we can get 50 people they'll double the bar tab to $200. They also have a happy hour on Friday nights which runs from 5pm to 6pm with beers half price and a glass of wine for $4.00. So cheap drinks if you get there early. So come along, bring flatmates, workmates\netc and lets try to hit 50!

Top o the Day to ya Lads n Lassies!

After 2 weeks off we've decided to do two weeks of NPF in a row! Next week being a huge event (Bevan & Rach are leaving us and skiving off overseas...sob, sob), so make sure you're there. The plan is to go back to La Zeppa and enjoy some tapas and many many drinks to make sure we send them off the right way...hungover! :-) Invite to come (Rach designed it)!

This week however, we are planning to try Parnell! The Bog that is! I'm sure all of you have had at least one drunken night you can't remember there! Lots of lovely Guiness and fab bar staff with delicious accents...(I hear the red wine is great...)! They usually have a band later on so pop down for a pint. We should be pretty early...5.30ish til late and it will be great to see everyone after our break.

I've been slowly updating the website...nearly there so check it out, you might be on there!

Update...

Someone naughty person beat us to the Crib so we're moving NPF to dirty old Grand Central!!! You guys know where it is, I'm sure you've stumbled in there once or twice and then didn't remember a thing after that! :-)

They have cheap cocktails all night and happy hour til 7 for those of you who get there early. Great music for a boogie too! Yeeahh!!

NPF Heads Back to Ponsonby... to The Ponsonby

This week New Pub Fridays is heading to The Ponsonby, one of the Belgian Beer Cafes, located a 1-3 St Marys Road, Ponsonby. Check out their website at www.theponsonby.co.nz.
Friday night is Mussel Men and Ladies in Red Night where every guy can get a pot of mussles for half price and any lady wearing red receives a FREE glass of Kriek, Belgium Cherry beer.

Calling All Southern Men to NPF!!

The bar for this week is Cardrona Speights Ale House, modelled on the historic hotel and bar near Wanaka.

Cardrona is at 37 Normanby Rd, Mt Eden. We'll be there from 6pm onward with our Speights in hand.

Where to next?

After a little hiccup last week (The Vulcan being closed when we got there...sorry bout that), we had an awesome time at Rakinos! Worked out pretty well with our friends 30th, and a couple of going away parties at the same time. Good times had by all and great relaunch! Sweet.
Keeping the tradition of drunken debauchery NPF is famous for...it is my last week of work after all, we'll be at The Green Room this week from about 7.

We're back!

Hey everyone!
We hope you're all ready for a new year of New Pub Fridays. After a bit of a break we are starting up again this Friday.
We have decided to kick off this year at a new bar in Vulcan lane. It was formerly Papa Jacks Voodoo Lounge - we thought we'd check out it's latest incarnation as The Vulcan.
It is another Macs bar and is down Vulcan Lane, in an upstairs area, across the Lane from the Occidental.
Come along from 7pm onwards and start off the weekend with a few drinks. Don't forget to pass this on to anyone else who might be keen!

Christmas drinks for NPF

Hey everyone!
The silly season has officially started so I thought I'd send this out early and book you all in! Christmas parties are rife at the mo, so we thought why not have our own party to end the year!
There won't be a jolly man in a red suit (unless one of you feels up to the challenge) but there will be a bar tab and platters!

Where: 106 Ponsonby Road, general bar area /special deck area
When: From 6.30pm this Friday
Why: Free booze/hanging with mates/it's Christmas - what else could you ask for?! (that's a rhetorical question!)

Some time off...

Hey NFPers!
Thanks to everyone that came to Aveia, was great to see some new faces and cheers to Mark and his team for supplying us with amazing food and lots of booze! Great venue if anyone is thinking of going.
We're taking the week off this Friday for U2 (woohoo)!!! Never fear, we'll be back with a last Christmas NPF for the year soon!

That's right, it's getting to that crazy time of the year and all the Christmas parties have started!! I missed last week's instalment but I hear it went off at Squid Row with wicked food! Cheers to Squid Row for putting up with us! :-)
This week we're going to hit Aveia Gallery (cnr Customs & Commerce St, Britomart) - a new pub suggested by Geoff & Beau (must be good). Geoff knows the owner so we're working on a deal...excellent! Link is below, this place is meant to awesome so let's get amongst it! Keen as to make this a big one as next week is U2 then it's December! Crazy!
